1.1 What This Policy Covers

This Cookie Policy explains how Koneksyon, operated by Zanara Labs LLC, uses cookies, local storage, device identifiers, and similar tracking technologies in connection with the Koneksyon mobile app and related services. It also describes the third-party tools and service providers that may collect or process data through the app, and explains your choices regarding certain types of data collection.

1.2 Mobile Apps and Cookies

Koneksyon is a mobile application, not a website. Traditional browser cookies do not apply to mobile apps in the same way they apply to websites. However, Koneksyon and its third-party service providers use technologies that function similarly to cookies, including local device storage, device identifiers, session tokens, and SDK-level data collection. This policy covers all of these technologies as they apply to the Koneksyon app.

1.3 Relationship to the Privacy Policy

This Cookie Policy supplements and should be read together with the Koneksyon Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy provides more detail on how personal information is collected, used, stored, and shared. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Privacy Policy or Terms of Service.

2.1 Local Device Storage

Koneksyon stores limited information locally on your device using AsyncStorage and similar mobile storage mechanisms. This includes session preferences and onboarding state, welcome screen and hint dismissal flags, and temporary UI state that improves your experience between sessions. This data is stored on your device and is not automatically transmitted to our servers. It may be cleared when you uninstall the app or clear app data through your device settings.

2.2 Authentication Tokens

When you sign in to Koneksyon, Supabase Auth generates a secure session token that is stored on your device. This token is used to authenticate your requests to the Koneksyon backend and to keep you signed in. Session tokens are essential for the app to function and cannot be disabled without signing out of your account.

2.3 Device Identifiers

Koneksyon and its third-party service providers may collect device identifiers, including your device type, operating system version, and app version. These identifiers are used for security, fraud prevention, crash reporting, and service reliability. They are not used for advertising purposes.

2.4 Push Notification Tokens

When you grant notification permissions, Koneksyon stores an Expo push notification token associated with your account. This token is used solely to deliver in-app notifications to your device, including connection alerts, message notifications, date proposal updates, and moderation notices. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.

2.5 Local Preference and Safety State

Koneksyon may store limited local information such as the selected discovery tab, filter selections, dismissed tutorials, cached interface preferences, temporary Event selections, report-sheet state, and unsent form state. This information supports usability and reduces repeated loading. Local data is not guaranteed to persist and may be cleared by the operating system, an app update, sign-out, app deletion, or device settings.

2.6 Server Logs and Security Events

Koneksyon and Supabase may process authentication logs, database and function logs, API request information, timestamps, IP-derived technical information, storage-access records, error reports, and security events for authentication, debugging, reliability, fraud prevention, abuse detection, legal compliance, and system integrity.

3.1 Supabase — Database, Auth, and Storage

Supabase is our primary infrastructure provider. It supports database storage, user authentication, session management, server functions, logs, and file storage including profile photos and support attachments. Information may be stored or processed in the region configured for Koneksyon's Supabase project and in other locations where Supabase or its subprocessors operate, subject to applicable contractual, technical, and legal safeguards.

3.2 Sightengine — AI Photo Moderation

Koneksyon uses Sightengine to automatically review and moderate profile photos. When you upload a photo, it is sent to Sightengine for analysis. Sightengine assesses image quality, face count, and content appropriateness, and returns a moderation result. Sightengine processes image data on our behalf and is not permitted to retain or use your photos for its own purposes beyond providing the moderation service. 3.3 RevenueCat — Subscription Management

Koneksyon uses RevenueCat to manage premium subscriptions and in-app purchases processed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. RevenueCat tracks subscription status, entitlements, and purchase receipts. 3.4 Apple App Store — iOS Payments

If you purchase a Koneksyon Premium subscription or credits on an iOS device, the transaction is processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple collects payment information, purchase history, and billing details directly. Koneksyon receives only a purchase receipt and subscription confirmation. 3.5 Google Play Store — Android Payments

If you purchase a Koneksyon Premium subscription or credits on an Android device, the transaction is processed by Google through Google Play. Google collects payment information, purchase history, and billing details directly. Koneksyon receives only a purchase receipt and subscription confirmation. 3.6 MonCash — Caribbean Payment Processing

Koneksyon supports MonCash as a payment option for Caribbean users. MonCash is a mobile payment service operated by Digicel Haiti. When you pay using MonCash, your transaction is processed directly by MonCash. Koneksyon receives a payment confirmation and transaction reference. Koneksyon does not receive or store your MonCash account credentials or mobile number beyond what is required to confirm the transaction.

4. What We Do Not Do

Koneksyon does not use tracking technologies for advertising or marketing purposes. We do not use advertising cookies or advertising SDKs; we do not serve targeted third-party advertisements within the app; we do not share your data with advertising networks or data brokers for marketing purposes; we do not use Meta Pixel, Google Ads tracking, or similar advertising tracking tools; and we do not sell your personal information in exchange for money. Some data sharing with service providers such as Supabase, Sightengine, and RevenueCat may be characterized as a sale or sharing under certain California privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA). Where required by applicable law, you may request to opt out of such sharing by contacting us at privacy@koneksyondatingapp.com.

5.1 Push Notifications

You can enable or disable push notifications at any time through your device settings (iOS: Settings > Notifications > Koneksyon; Android: Settings > Apps > Koneksyon > Notifications). Disabling notifications will not affect your ability to use the app, but you will not receive real-time alerts for connections, messages, or date proposals.

5.2 Location Permissions

You can enable or disable location permissions at any time through your device settings. If you disable location permissions, Koneksyon will use your manually entered country and city for discovery and proximity features. Some proximity-based features may be limited.

5.3 Local Storage

Local storage data stored by the Koneksyon app on your device can be cleared by uninstalling the app or clearing app data through your device settings. Note that clearing app data will sign you out of your account.

5.4 Account and Data Deletion

You may delete your Koneksyon account through the app at any time. Upon deletion, your personal information will be removed from our active systems in accordance with our data retention policy. 5.5 Opting Out of Third-Party Processing

For choices related to third-party service providers, please refer to their respective privacy policies and opt-out mechanisms listed in Section 3 of this policy. Koneksyon does not control the data practices of third-party providers beyond our contractual agreements with them.

6. Data Retention

Local storage data is retained on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the app. Authentication session tokens expire after a defined period and are refreshed automatically while your account is active. They are cleared upon sign-out or account deletion. Data collected by third-party service providers such as RevenueCat, Sightengine, Apple, Google, and MonCash is retained in accordance with their own data retention policies. Koneksyon retains transaction references and subscription status records for as long as necessary for billing, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.

7. International Data Transfers

Koneksyon is operated by Zanara Labs LLC in the United States. Information may be processed in the region configured for Koneksyon's infrastructure and in other locations where Supabase, Sightengine, RevenueCat, Apple, Google, MonCash, Digicel, notification providers, and their subprocessors operate. International transfers may be subject to contractual, technical, organizational, or other lawful safeguards required by applicable law.

8. Policy Updates

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use, new third-party integrations, or updates to applicable law. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect. The effective date at the top of this policy will always reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after an updated policy becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised version.
